Using the OP/ER Valet™
- When a patient who has been admitted into your department needs to disrobe for a procedure, the attending nurse will issue the patient one OP/ER Valet™ single use, sanitary, tamper evident liner.
- After the patient disrobes, the nurse will place their belongings into the liner and inventory, expose the
adhesive strip, and seal the liner. Now their belongings are sealed, much like an evidence bag.
- Using the easy carry handle, the nurse will insert the liner into the pouch, zip it closed, and lock the
pouch.
- Once the patient is ready for discharge, the patient will hand the key to the attending nurse who will
unlock the pouch and remove the sealed liner. The nurse will visually inspect the liner to insure it is still
sealed and has not been tampered with. The patient is now ready to change and leave
Attaching the OP/ER Valet™ pouch to a stretcher:
- Determine the position on the stretcher for desired access.
- Lift the mattress, remove adhesive backing from the Velcro on the
pouch and attach to stretcher.
- Press firmly to make sure adhesive backing on Velcro is secure.
- Additional stability can be achieved by bolting through the grommets in the flap or utilizing a lanyard to secure the pouch.
- You have now created a secure and tamper evident system for patient belongings in your department.
